How to get there

By air

The airport of Vienna is Wien Schwechat. Some airline companies only land at the Bratislava airport, which is located 60 km from Vienna. A bus shuttle connects Bratislava airport with Wien Schwechat and the city of Vienna.

Vienna can be reached from the airport by

• regular suburban railway train (S-Bahn; fare price € 4,20, duration 25 to 27 minutes),
• a rapid train shuttle (CAT - City Airport Train; fare price € 11, duration 16 min),
• buses (8 €, 20 min) or
• taxis (€ 36, approx. 20 min).

Suburban railway: Take the suburban railway line S7 to the station Wien Mitte / Landstraße. At the teller machines, choose Wien Mitte as your destination. The fare price includes the use of further means of public transport within the city boundaries of Vienna. At Wien Mitte / Landstraße, change to the underground line U4 direction Hütteldorf, get off at the second stop at Karlsplatz. Trains depart twice an hour from the airport, 17 and 42 minutes after the full hour.

City Airport Train: The City Airport Train (CAT) is heavily advertised at the airport. It stops at Wien Mitte / Landstraße. The ride takes 16 minutes and Trains depart 6 and 36 minutes after the full hour. The fare price is € 11 not including public transport within Vienna. From Wien Mitte / Landstraße, continue as above.

Buses: Buses to Wien Schwedenplatz take 20 min and depart 20 and 50 min after the full hour. The fare price is 8 €. From Wien Schwedenplatz, continue with the underground line U1 direction Reumannplatz to Karlsplatz. A ticket for the underground must be bought. A half-price ticket is sufficient for the two stops.

Taxi: Usually, special rates are offered for the transfer to and from the airport, e.g., starting from 29 € by www.totaltaxi.at. Further taxi companies are listed at www.viennaairport.com.

By train

Trains arrive at Wien Meidling or Wien Hauptbahnhof. From Wien Meidling, continue with underground line U6, direction Floridsdorf to Längenfeldstraße, change to U4, direction Heiligenstadt and exit at Karlsplatz. From Wien Hauptbahnhof, take the underground U1, direction Leopoldau, exit at the second stop at Karlsplatz.

By car

Parking is restricted to a duration of 2 hours in the surroundings of the conference site. Parking vouchers can be bought at a Tabak Trafik. A parking garage is located at Operngasse 13, 1040 Wien. The rate for a day is 35 €.
